Lexmark laser toner and laser printing cartridge printing cartridge supply products
Lexmark has long been a name in in laser printing. Initially a spin-off from IBM, the company was started in 1991 specifically to meet the growing demand for printers first under the IBM brand name. The company's first products were dot-matrix printers, but they soon introduced their first laser printing system, the IBM 4029. The first Lexmark-brand printing cartridge supply products appeared in 1992. The company continued to grow domestically and internationally, acquiring Gestetner Lasers along the way, and became the second largest laser printing system manufacturer by 2001. In 2002, Lexmark and Dell announced a "strategic alliance"; since then, Lexmark has produced and produced all of Dell's laser printing systems and laser printing cartridge supply products. Lexmark introduced their first color laser printing system in 1995, the Lexmark Optra C. They have since followed up this color laser printing system with a small number of new color laser printing system models up to the Lexmark C510, C760 and C920 color laser printing systems. Most of these Lexmark color laser printing systems have been introduced since 2001 when color laser printing started to become more widely spread and lower priced.
